Terms of Use

Effective date: 15 April 2026
Version: 1.0
Entity: Edvora (ABN 66 773 492 536)

1. About these terms

By creating an account or using Edvora, you agree to these terms. If you are under 16, a parent or legal guardian must create the account and agree to these terms on your behalf.

2. What Edvora is

Edvora is an educational software platform providing adaptive practice content for Australian K-12 examination preparation. It is not a tutoring service, school, or official examination body.

3. Your account

3.1 Accuracy of information

You agree to provide accurate information when you register. If you register on behalf of a child, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian.

3.2 Account security

Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3.3 One account per person

Sharing accounts is prohibited. We may suspend accounts we reasonably believe are being shared.

4. What you can and cannot do

4.1 Permitted use

Personal, non-commercial learning. Schools may use Edvora under a separate School Licence.

4.2 Prohibited use

  • Copy, scrape, or systematically extract Edvora's content or question bank
  • Train other AI models on Edvora content
  • Use automated tools to interact with Edvora
  • Attempt to access accounts that are not yours
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others' rights
  • Reverse engineer the diagnostic AI or infrastructure

5. Licence you grant to us

5.1 Licence for providing the service

To run Edvora we need a licence to process and display content you submit (such as your answers). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use this content solely for operating the platform and the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy.

5.2 Licence for AI training (opt-in only)

This clause only applies if you opt in to AI training in Settings. If you opt in, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use anonymised versions of your responses (question text, answer text, correctness) to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy AI models, including models we release open-source or commercialise. The resulting model powers the Edvora platform, including both the free research program and the paid subscription tiers. You can withdraw this licence at any time; withdrawal stops future use and severs your pseudonym link within 30 days so past contributions become fully anonymous.

5.3 Academic publication

We may publish anonymised, aggregated statistics (e.g. “65% of Year 5 students make this error type”) in academic papers, conference talks, and grant applications. No individual student is ever identifiable in such publications.

6. Payment and subscription

6.1 Standard subscription

AU$19/month or AU$149/year. Cancel any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.

6.2 Research program

Participants receive full platform access at no cost in exchange for explicit opt-in to contribute anonymised learning data to model training. Participation can be withdrawn at any time; access reverts to free trial limits from that point.

6.3 Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), Schedule 2) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. These include guarantees that the service will be provided with due care and skill, be fit for any particular purpose we have agreed to, and be supplied within a reasonable time.

If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to the remedies provided by the Australian Consumer Law — which, for a major failure, may include cancellation and a refund, or compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that can be remedied, we have a reasonable opportunity to fix the problem.

Outside your ACL rights, we do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months where the platform has performed substantially as described. If we materially reduce platform functionality during your paid period, you may request a refund of the unused portion by writing to support@edvora.com.au.

7. Our content

7.1 Ownership

All question content, explanations, AI-generated feedback, interface designs, and software are owned by Edvora or licensed to us.

7.2 Official exam references

NAPLAN, NSW Selective, OC, ACER Scholarship and similar exam names are used for descriptive purposes only. Edvora is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a representative of ACARA, NESA, NSW Department of Education, ACER, or any other assessment body.

7.3 Accuracy

We take care to ensure accuracy but make no warranty that every question or explanation is free of error. Report issues to support@edvora.com.au.

8. Disclaimers and liability

8.1 No guarantee of outcomes

Edvora does not guarantee any specific examination result, placement, or improvement.

8.2 AI explanations may contain errors

Our AI-generated explanations are produced by machine learning models and may contain factual inaccuracies, reasoning errors, or references to people, organisations, or events that are incomplete or incorrect. Use them as one input to learning; consult a teacher or tutor for difficult concepts.

If you believe an AI-generated explanation contains content that is false, defamatory, or otherwise harmful, please report it to support@edvora.com.au and we will review and remove or correct it promptly. You agree not to rely on AI-generated content as fact about any real person, organisation, or event without independent verification.

8.3 To the extent permitted by law

  • Our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profits damages
  • We exclude all implied warranties to the extent permitted

Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Termination

9.1 By you

Close your account any time via Settings → Account → Delete account.

9.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms. We will give you written notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond, unless the breach poses an immediate risk to other users or our systems.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we notify you by email and require you to re-accept before you continue using Edvora. For minor clarifications we post an updated version on the website.

11. Dispute resolution

11.1 Direct resolution first

If you have a complaint, contact support@edvora.com.au. We commit to respond within 10 business days.

11.2 External resolution

  • Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (privacy): oaic.gov.au
  • Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (consumer): accc.gov.au

11.3 Governing law
